Interesting...the lamp is raised way up should I turn it off?
What the weather like where your located? Mine are in the house. We turned the heat lamp off around 2 to 3 weeks... I should add I live in California and the weather is about 80 degrees during the day and 50 degrees at night..
I am up in washington been warm lately.
Low is 50 tonight, was cooler a few nights back, they are in our garage.
I would start by turning the light off during the day and just leave it on at night for about a week. After that start turning it off at night. My 5 week old wyandottes are already in the coop. They have been in their for a few weeks now and are doing really well. Every breed is different though. Best to watch your chicks. If they are huddling they are to cold...![]()
