Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 2

Umm, do SLW hens ever get greenish tail feathers? Is that just a roo thing? I have 4 SLW 2 month olds. One is definitely a roo, but the others I think are pullets. However, they are all getting some iridescent green in their black tail feathers at the same time. Thoughts?

I'm not for sure on tail feathers but I know the pullets can get the beetle sheen on their backs. :)

I've got 2 SS babies was told they were both hens, probably 8 weeks old I'm guessing. What do y'all think?

#2 seems like definitely a pullet.
# 1 has a lot of white over head and feathers which pushes me towards male- but one of our SS pullets comb at 8 weeks is pictured below, our first to lay in her group. Blurry pic, but the point is the color/size of comb of pullet at 8 weeks-- not sure!

All are about 6-7 weeks old.

Cochin bantam

Barred rock

Black copper maran

Easter egger

Welsummer

Cochin bantam
If your cochin bantams have wattles then they are boys - they start to sprout them between 4-6 weeks. My 12 week old girls still don't have wattles.

Any ideas?

How old? I think cockerel do to larger comb.
