I have a few more 5 week olds...I need some help determining breed/gender (color as well on the bantams) please and thank you so much for your expertise! [COLOR=FF0000]these looks a little like EE's and the one on the right looks like a cockerel[/COLOR] I see the slightly larger comb but wouldn't there be a difference in color and/or pattern between the two if one was a cockerel or is it too early to see the difference? I'm still learning so just curious .

not sure on there breeds but one looks like a cockerel so far

16 wk old BO. Comb and waddles grew rapidly in last two weeks s/he is the only BO I have so nothing else to compare to. Of the 8 pullets I got in April, one RIR is definitely looking to be a cockerel (but I am in denial), but on the fence with Buttercup here - comb and waddle color is lighter than the RIR. Give me some hope......thanks in advance for your help!

She's a pullet. A male would have long thin saddle feathers by 16 wks.


Only males get long thin saddle feathers that hang down either side at the base of the tail.

Female saddle feathers look like the other body feathers, short and bluntly rounded.

What do you all think about this 8 week old polish? We have three straight run and they all have the same amount of wattle/tail/shape and everything except the other two are black. This one has been roosting outside while the other 17 pullets put themselves up in the coop. Any ideas?
