So as far as my Australorps do you say Roos?A bright red comb, regardless of breed, by 8 weeks old, is a sure indicator of a male. Patchy coloring, or deep red through the shoulders is another sure sign.
The three row comb is a bit of a myth. A pullet with a proper pea comb will also have three rows. And a cockerel can occasionally
have a single row of peas.

Once you see them in person it gets easier and you will know when you see them. They look nothing like a pullets.I'm not very good at distinguishing those.![]()
This photo is a good indication but not 100 percent. Their are exceptions. That's why I say saddle feathers unless it obvious. I have 3 faverolles I got sexed from a hatchery. They are getting a little red in the comb at only 7 weeks. Faverolles can be sexed my color similar to sex links so I know mine are female. I would think Roo if I didn't know better.
