My Brabanter cockerel got his saddle feathers around 8 weeks old.

Thanks. At what age do the saddle feathers show up on EE's? I have 3 ten weeks olds.

Some start to get them as early as 8 weeks old. Others don't start to have visible saddle feathers until after 14 weeks. Most of mine have visible saddle feathers by 8 to 10 weeks, but I breed for fast development.

We have roosters, but I am wondering if our Cochins will get saddle feathers if they are roosters? That was the only other breed we had to buy straight run and we are dying for them to mature a bit more so we know. They are 8 weeks old now so I know we will have to wait about another month+

Cochin males will get male specific feathers.

I think this is a buff orpington but not totally sure, it is somewhere between 6-7 weeks old. Pullet or Cockerel?

Definitely a cockerel.
