Yep, he's muffed. He's a mix, not a Cochin.
Another indication that he isn't a Cochin is his skin color. Cochins have yellow skin. You can see that his toes are white. For real??![]()
Oh well, I already have his replacement, so I guess I better go ahead and get rid of him. Thanks a bunch.

Probably some D'Uccle in him.I see that.![]()
I've had him for over a year, posted dozens of pictures of him, I can't believe no one pointed that out to me. Any guess on what mix he may have in him?
Sorry for the million questions. I appreciate the help though.
Probably some D'Uccle in him.
He's only got one copy of the muff/beard gene, so only about 50% of his chicks will be muffed/bearded. That third chick pictured is definitely muffed.Ok, that would make sense, because the person I got the eggs from had some d'uccle also.
One more question if you don't mind.... Why are all of his offspring not bearded/muffed?
All of these chicks (except the mottled in the first pic pic) are his offspring.
The mottled is his replacement from a totally different bloodline.
This cuckoo is not his offspring either. She is the mother of several of those
