I have 3/8 that I suspect may be roosters. Posted elsewhere and got criticism on what breed I described them as. Not really concerned about breed. Used breed to distinguish between birds.

Just looking for an opinion on gender! Thanks in advance!

How old? The way it's looking I'm inclined to think you do have three boys there. That's a lot of pink.

We got them from a farm 2 weeks ago, but my guess is 5-7 weeks old?

Ugh...so I can't have roosters where I live. I bought this silkie/light brahma mix from a lady on craigslist who has tons of chickens. She assured me that 2 of her chicks were pullets and 2 were cockerels--apparently the cockerels wouldn't stop crowing at 4 weeks. I brought it home 3 weeks ago and it is super submissive to my 2 speckled sussex pullets (all of them are around 14 weeks). It has never crowed--however, I posted a pic on a facebook chicken page and everyone immediately said rooster because of the crest and saddle feathers. It has pointy colored feathers but the actual feathers are more rounded. And no signs of spurs or anything. I'm leaning towards roo...sad because he/she is very sweet and has finally settled in with my other 2

That's a cockerel.

Try a no-crow collar if you want to keep him. Our rooster does pretty well with it as long as it's relatively tight. He can still crow, but it's much quieter than any noise the hens make. I also keep him inside the coop at night. That seems to deter the crowing.

Well he hasn't made a peep yet, but I am probably just going to give him back to the original owner. Bummed...he is so cool looking and super sweet

Too bad murph2sk! All things considered, he's a pretty interesting looking bird. I feel your pain... I've got a beast of a chicken that's gone "boy" on me (no crowing), sweetest bird of my flock, but the crowing will be the end of him in my neighborhood when that starts, and it's like feeding a turkey!

That happened to me. When I took the rooster back a month later the idiot lady put it back in the pen with all the others. And the other chickens killed him. I told them not too. I was so upset.

I assume the lady knows not to do that because she essentially runs a small farm--but I had no idea. Why do you have to do this? Just to reintroduce?
