Cockerel correct? I just started hatching my own chicks this winter. This one happens to come from a silver laced wyendott (dad) and a white rock (mom). I have 7 right now from the same parents about this same age. (hatched the 18th of Jan) 5 look just like this and the other two are definitely different. I will try to get a picture of one and post it.

Not only is he handsome but he is very broad and looks like he'd grow into a respectable meat bird. Or am I the only one that thinks like that?

Hello! I decided to start another thread on helping all you back yard chicken farmers determine the sex of your chicken.
I know it can sometimes be super tricky to identify gender in chicks, so that's why we made this thread! No need to start your own thread, just hop on here and share a picture of your chick, making sure it's at least 4 weeks old before asking gender. Me and @Jetblack2004
are almost 100% on genders for chicks 4 weeks+. 
So feel free to ask lots of questions regarding gender. We do NOT identify breeds, only gender. However, if anyone out there is good at identifying breeds, please let us know, we would love to have your help!

Help! I know for sure the whiter one is a roo. Looks and acts like one. Slow to feather, redenning comb and waddles. The other 2 I am not sure. All 3 were supposed to have egger and/or wyandotte parents. They all have huge legs and feet. Any ideas?

They are 6 or 7 weeks old. These 3 are a lot bigger than my RIR pullet that I got with them (same age) and they all have thicker legs than she has. Could they all be cockerels? Only the white one is obvious to me. He looks and acts like the rooster and feathered a lot slower.
