Yeah now I gotta rehome 4 roosters and start this ALL over again. In the middle of building a coop and run. All the money in feed and care etc etc ..... sigh! Who has had good experiences with what hatcheries I can order from????

I've had good luck with Meyer. And if you have a Rural King in your area they are much more knowledgeable than TSC in my area and actually carry sell and seperate pullets. They do carry straight runs, but 90% of what they carry at ours are sexed pullets and sex link chicks. The last 2 batches I got from them all turned out to be pullets as advertised.

@Youtjatoor, yeah, the only way I'd get chicks through TSC would be their online ordering program where the chicks ship to me rather than the store and I can get pullets. When I was looking for alternatives to the straight run bins, I found chicks at the county farm co-op and I found a micro hatchery. Both are much better suited to my needs.

I didn't know any better then. I've learned a ton since. Just figured I'll take my chances and now I'll NEVER do it again. I've also learned that TSC here sux. I know there's good ones out there just not in Fuquay-Varina NC

We bought this little chick as a welsummer pullet. 6 weeks old. I have a feeling its a rooster. Thoughts?

The others gave you some good stuff, I'll just say that next time you might want to get sex links to be sure you've got pullets!
