Hello!! Our little ones are 4 weeks old and I think I have a male in this group as well. Hoping the rest are pullets. I don’t have the best of luck getting females. We have a golden laced polish, a salmon faverolle, a blue laced red Wyandotte, and a speckled Sussex. The salmon faverolle has me confused because the coloring is for a female, but she seems to be getting red wattlers.
Despite the odd wide comb, that's a pullet. Was she a hatchery chick or backyard breeder? Very pretty.9 week old americana (easter egger)!

If she's not, she's one of the latest bloomers ever! The even feather pattern on her wings is all female, she's still pale, and the comb is flat even though it's wide. So yeah, pullet. Thanks for your response! I wasn't sure because the comb looks so odd to me compared to the 'easter egg' combs on the other americanas. I got her from a local feed store - a hatchery chick. This one has been one of my favorites. Such a curious and fun personality! I sure hope you're right about her being a pullet!
I think you've got 3 cockerels, but not very experienced with Cochins. The bright red comb is not something you see on a 12 wk pullet. Pullets don't usually get that red until they are ready to lay. Also, I am seeing darker red on the wings. That's usually a boy thing... as is the crowing!3 month old bantam cochin..... way less comb, wattles, and ears than it’s 2 same age hatchmates. But the darn fluffy things, so hard to tell neck and saddle feathers. And it also crows occasionally. Cuckoo boy is same age, and in the 2 photos showing both buffs, the one ‘in question’ is in front, fluffy thing in the back is definitely a boy. Close up, second to last is one in question, last photo is the definite boy. I am sure that it’s just wishful thinking especially with crowing.... but girls can crow right? It’s just trying to fit in with the 3 boys it hatched with, right? (I know... wait 2 months and see if it lays an egg). But seriously, any chance for girl? Or just ship it as I don’t need 6 roosters for 9 hens.....
Hahahaha had to look up who it was, but you can definitely see the resemblance.O.O
!!!
Wow.
That top left pic, the one that's black and orange has a Dewey Crowe haircut. :O
(Justified show character...)
Anyone else see the resemblance?
