Here's a very tricky lavender Orpington.
12 weeks old now.
At 3-4 weeks I thought male because of those big wattles..... but its biological mom had huge wattles as a chick and was very meaty. I thought she was a rooster for a very long time. She's now a giant 10 lb orpington hen.
By 6-8 weeks, still no comb & the pinkish wattles stayed the same size, so I figured a pullet taking after the mom.
Now at 12 weeks, I see pink in comb and growing wattles. No pointed hackle/saddle feathers. Stands like a girl. Yes, it's hot outside, but those wattles and comb look pink!
Any guesses?
