Not Sure If You've Got A Pullet Or Cockerel? Click Here! Thread 5

I hope someone can tell me the gender of these two EE birds. They're 9 weeks old. I bought them at the local feed store, they called them Ameraucanas. I've since learned that they're Easter Eggers. I just want colored eggs, I'm not picky about the breed! ;)
They won't let me get much closer to get good pics, so I hope you can determine gender by what I've got here. Help, please!

Both appear to be pullets right now. I'd watch the bottom one in the first picture, though. The comb appears to be slightly pink, which could mean early bloomer pullet or a cockerel.

Yes, that one has me a bit worried as well. I already have a cockerel Barred Rock and our city doesn't allow roosters in city limits. The one you pointed out is also a bit larger than the other EE, and they're the same age. My first foray into raising chickens is starting out rocky (no pun intended!) I have 5 birds right now, those two EE, the buff orp. you see photo bombing above, the BR, and a 4 week old RIR (though I'm questioning where she's a RIR, too. :p )

Size doesn't always matter, though that can be an indication. Post some pictures of your (supposed) RIR! She could be too young, but we can try to see what you have.

@Valleychickca here are my four so you can se the difference between genders. They are about the same age as your too.

from left to right: girl, boy, girl, boy.
Sorry you can't keep Pepper. He will be gorgeous.

Okay, yes yours are very obvious. We were thinking Pepper was looking more like a cockerel but without a pullet to compare him we weren't sure. But I see yours are much different in color and the size of the comb. Thank you so much for sharing! I have a few leads already for a new home for him; hopefully one works out. Thanks!

We have 6 Sapphire gems, about 6 weeks old. Supposedly they are all pullets, sex linked like the black sex link, but blue. I'm guessing at least one is a cockerel, although none had a spot on the head as hatchlings.
