yes it could be it is egg shaped but seems to be covered in skin tissue it is not pound sized though...yet it is like large egg size.....but this a small chicken almost bantam sized i would say so it is pretty large for her body to pass.

Sounds like a prolapse, which happens, but it's not the end of the world.

WOW thats look REALLY bad! I am not sure what to do now......I am going to have think on it for a short time. I dont want to keep her alive in misery. What would you do? Would you put her out of her misery?

I thought it was a shell because I was feeling inside but could not see anything. It felt hard and a little gritty like a shell. But now when I was lubing her she pushed really hard and opened her a little and I could see the mass it was red like insides not a whitish egg color. I would think her eggs shoud be a white/blue color and should be easy to see if she was pushing it out. This mass is below her vent if I wanted to squeeze it out of her I would have to go up a very little and out. She does not have anything protruding from her as of yet. I am going to try and take some pictures if I can and post them.

I would give the calcium/d, do hot baths, massage, heating pads, lube. I'd also feed her very little in hopes that her egg production would shut down. If that didn't work, I'd try the needle/syringe/suck method, but I'd give a a day, at least. It's up to you...

Thank You for all of your advice, helpful information and time you spent helping me. I really appreciate the effort. In the end I decided to put her out of her misery. She was pushing and squealing out in pain trying to pass whatever it was......so I decided it would be best for her to end her suffering.

I don't want to sound insensitive, but are you going to do a necropsy on her? It could prove useful to someone, someday.
