Not sure why so many people have neighbors who complain about roosters

The 4:45-5:15 am wake up call did not sit well with neighbor vet, particularly on the weekends where he went "off duty". We had to offer up the loudest roo as a dinner peace offering. The hens singing the egg song isn't an issue, because he's up and about by that time in the morning. He like the hens, doesn't like the natural alarm clock. I imagine if the master bedroom was in the back of the house instead of the front, the DW would have been complaining too.

When we went to pick up some of our chicks from a local breeder I was shocked to learn that the "rooster" I was hearing was a hen laying an egg.
So far our roosters crow primarily in the morning around 7. I have asked our neighbor a few times if they bother him. He says it's alright. I want to slim down to just one roo very soon though. Occasionally the two oldest boys get into a crowing contest.
