Purchased a month ago, was told it was a Lemon Cuckoo Orpington and a pullet. Now I've been told no to both by others. Please help. About 6 months old. Not crowing or showing interest in any of the girls. Is this a late blooming cockerel or a masculine hen???

I found this thread...i just scanned it quickly but my understanding is that depending on if the father is single or double barred (and the barring/lack-of the hen it's bred to), unbarred offspring are possible in varying percentages. I would think anyone selling LCOs would have first ascertained that rooster(s) they're using in breeding programs are double barred. And only sell the barred offspring. Or warn buyers that some chicks might be unbarred. I'm so sorry you invested in birds and didnt get what you wanted :( https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/lemon-cuckoo-orpington-questions.681721/page-3
