Nicole , there were white chanteclers on display at the 4-H Pro Show in Windsor, Hants County, NS this week-end. The breesers are in Baddeck, NS, glad to see more of them on display!

Good references, thanks. We're quite lucky here, lots of local breeders and a co-op system that brings chicks to most communities in the spring. I find that the 4-H system is a great way to track down breeders, too.

Just thought I would pop inand say hi! I am located just outside Greenwood NS, and currently have a hen and roo Frizzle, and what I THINK is a White Cochin- (She's not a big chicken, but she's a pretty all-white with feathered feet and came from the same hatch as the Frizzles)

I'm trying my hand at incubating, but had an early temp spike that may have trashed 12 lovely hatching eggs

I have an order coming in this spring though, and I am excited.

Just wanted to touch base with outher NS'ers and bump the thread to see if there are more of us out there

Hi Kelly

I am in Rawdon in Hants county nice to see other nova scotians here. Greenwood is a beautiful part of the province we vacation their at the local campgrounds as my boys love Oaklawn Farm Zoo.

I get my first 12 day old chicks in May from the local co op. 6 orpingtons and 6 Rhode Island Reds. Now if the weather would just improve we could get the coop built.

Very pretty in through Rawdon, we travel those roads in the summer on the motorcycles, and my hubby is from Hants Co// Centre Burlington....today we travelled from Greenwood to Enfield to pick up hatching eggs lol. I think I MAY have been bitten by the bug.

My chicks are coming from Performance Poultry in Ontario. He had a very nice selection, so I was able to order different breeds, and he is wonderful to deal with. The shipping costs were going to be the same for a smaller order, so I ended up ordering half a box and I'll figure out where they are going after they get here... my Dad ordered a few with me, so that helps.
