Broody lockdown time! XD Not really a lockdown but the moment of truth! Went out today to collect the eggs my hens lay... Broody was on her nest but eager to go get some food so when I pet her a little she left her nest (regular occurrence, she's back already). On her way out I thought I saw some motion but thought maybe she just bumped an egg... So I waited and watched; sure enough this egg was shaking a little on occasion! HOORAH! Nothing to do now but trust in my broody hen and see what happens...!
Heidi is my granddaughter...I have some home growns due next week...I'm hoping they are my sex links eggs...she's the only one that lays white eggs but sometime the buff orp eggs are so light I can't tell if they are cream or white...Heidi, when did you set yours? When are they due? Mine are due October 26th I think! whoot!

I just candled the ameraucana eggs (marans were too dark) and I'm SO excited! This is my first time with shipped eggs and after 24hrs I had to toss two eggs that started to weepso I was a little discouraged. I'm only on day 3 now and out of the remaining 12 all but 2 had visible veins!!It took me what seemed like forever to get my hands on these eggs! I'm expecting white leghorn, Russian orloff and Bantam Golden Lakenvelder, RARE" FAVEROLLE...I also won a bid on maran eggs but there is something wrong with that transaction so I guess I'm not getting those....anyway they all go in when they get here...hubby is rolling his eyes with a smirk!
