a few days before they internally pip they get very quiet, resting and absorbing to get their strengthIt's day 20. I had to open the incubator to put water in, so I quickly whisked out my only light egg to look at it. It was a very healthy embryo a couple days so, but now it appears to have died. No movement, curled up in the small end, veins aren't very visible anymore...
Is there a chance that it is still alive? I don't know what they're supposed to look like at this point.
And now I'm really depressed - because if that embryo can die, I don't have much hope for any of them. The rest are Marans and I haven't been able to see into any of them, so I don't even know how they were doing when they went into lock down.

how long has it been pippedIt is so stressful!! Day 22, one chick has been alive for 8 hours. Four more have pipped. One looks like it's about to unzip. One looks stuck, membrane looks like it's yellowing. After talking with other chicken experts, I'm going to attempt to help it.
