November Hatch-a-long...

Woke up to a chick! They aren't due for another day and a half!!! I didn't even have the brooder inside yet. 0-0

I had 3 by 8am.

I'm running a hovabator, with 4 extra vent holes in it that I made myself, which has had it running at 37.5C as per a secondary trusted thermometer.

I'm going to have to guess it's the storm system that's got them coming out early.

All 3 were from eggs that were bought. Supposed to be Barred rock, Speckled sussex, or Rhode Island red. All 3 are silver. :? I didn't get to see the adults, my sister picked them up for me. Maybe they're BR?

Which are the very smallest eggs in the pic?

Good luck with those Nov. hatches everyone! I just put 25 shipped egg's in mine this evening that should be due Nov. 6th. My incubator was already on and up to speed because I already had 11 egg's from my flock in there that should start hatching Oct. 26th. Yes, I'm doing a split hatch again!

I also have a dbl yolk I assume. I put it in because...well just because. Lol

So, would that affect a hatch? Should I pull it out? Will a second yolk just sit unabsorbed? How does that work if it's a double yolk??
You can get twins. I set a double yolker by accident and have twins in the incubator right now.

I have never seen anyone get twins to successfully hatch, it would be nice to see it in this hatch a long

You might see it in the October one or in this one. One of us should be able to do it! I know my egg is extra large and there's enough room for both in it.
