November Hatch -- Who's going to have late fall babies?

WOW!!! Hello my fellow Californians!!!! I don't lockdown til the 30th. And I think I have a blood ring in one egg.

I locked down a dozen sizzle eggs and I candled just before I pu them in the hatcher and I saw movement out of at least half of them. I'll see what hatches hopefully tomorrow. That's their due date.

I had won some oebg eggs in the auction and none of them are fertile. It's very dissappointing but it happens. So I lost out there too. I had some maran eggs from last swap and none hatched out of them either and the month before that I only got 1 chick. But I know thats the risk we take when getting shipped eggs. I'm just glad the person that got mine had 7 out of 8 hatch. My EE's have been good and fertile. Well, they aren't my EE's anymore. Just sold them. I do have chicks from them though.

Took out 2 more eggs tonight. I'm starting to get a little fear that I'll only hatch out ONE chick and since it's not springtime I wont' be able to find it a companion!
Hubby told me not to worry, but of course I do.

You sound like me. I have 2 bators going and some in the hatcher right now. What a time to have full bators. I'll have chicks in the house this winter. I put all the eggs I get from my silkies, frizzle and polish mix in the bator. I"m not buying anymore till spring. I've tossed out all the eggs so far because they where clear. I did candle and seen one with veins but not gonna do the victory dance till I get a chick. A living chick. My little fuzzy butts are just getting started in laying and apparently the boys haven't gotten it down just yet. So I don't expect to have a house full of fluffballs with legs. But I would be happy with any. Maybe I can catch a couple of trades for silkies. So I can add new blood to my flock as I build it.
