November Hatch -- Who's going to have late fall babies?

with them being in the furnace room i would keep an eye on the humidity i had to move were i had mine on the counter in the kitchen island to the corner of the office area because they lost humidity too easy out on the island. hope this is of some help. what are you running the humidity at? i keep mine around 40 to 45 and that seems to work here. good luck!

I also have mine around 45%. Unfortunately this is the ONLY room where I can put them that the kids or animals can't get too. The temp hasn't changed a bit for days now and the humidity is just starting to go down a few % because the water is running out. Hopefully everything will turn out alright. I just wasn't sure if something had to be different because of the winter, but now I realize it was kind of a stupid question lol. Thanks lol

When I hatch in the winter I usually end up with some that have curled toes or spraddle leg. It's fixable in most cases but it's from either the temps or humidity fluctuating. Or both. I have to get the airconditioner out of the window and get it covered with plastic so the temps will stop dropping.

I bought a small flock of Buff Orphingtons in hopes at least 1 would go broody. They aren't old enough to lay just yet but they're close. The roo has started breeding them. They are all young and first timers so we'll see.

Crossing my fingers. One hatched over two hours ago. Lots of pips (though no egg pieces missing yet). Most had started to crack their little pip out by 8 this morning.

Hoping to get to watch a few of them later tonight!
