November Hatch -- Who's going to have late fall babies?

Yea!! Got this PM from my wonderful friend who has our eggs in her incubator...
I candled the silkie eggs today. I thought you would want to know that I see developing embryos in all 9 eggs. This still doesn't mean they will all hatch, but its a really good sign. Three of them have aircells that are a little off, that is usually just something that happens with shipped eggs. It makes it a little trickier for the chicks to fully develop because they might not have room.

I can't see through the maran shells to candle them, but all but one "feel right", Its hard to describe, but its like the balance of the weight changes when there is a chick developing inside. I will keep you posted.

We're so excited to have little chicks again soon! Our marans are due this weekend and our silkies are due on Thanksgiving lol!

3 babies working at pipping now! They aren't through the shell yet. GO BABIES GO!

My eggs should be arriving today. I've NEVER incubated in the winter so this will be my first! Anybody else in Pa on this thread? I tried to look at all of the posts but my kids are making it impossible right now. I'm not sure if I should change the humidity since its cold here. The only place in my house where they are safe is in my furnace/storage room. I don't have a basement or any other extra room. I've been watching the temp/humidity the last few days and its staying very steady! I'm using a Genesis 1588 with turner. These are very good eggs & expensive so I don't want to mess things up. Any suggestions?

I have Lavender Orp's, Black Coppers and Wheatens ready to hatch tomorrow! I won them them from auction from Bargain. I'm excited because of the Lavender Orp's and they're in my brand new Brinsea incubator, so wish me luck!

with them being in the furnace room i would keep an eye on the humidity i had to move were i had mine on the counter in the kitchen island to the corner of the office area because they lost humidity too easy out on the island. hope this is of some help. what are you running the humidity at? i keep mine around 40 to 45 and that seems to work here. good luck!

I also have mine around 45%. Unfortunately this is the ONLY room where I can put them that the kids or animals can't get too. The temp hasn't changed a bit for days now and the humidity is just starting to go down a few % because the water is running out. Hopefully everything will turn out alright. I just wasn't sure if something had to be different because of the winter, but now I realize it was kind of a stupid question lol. Thanks lol

:flMy sizzles are due today but no pips yet. I sure hope I at least get a few. It was a big disappointment when none of the oegb's where fertile, the sizzles are fertile but I only saw movement in about half of them but that don't mean the other half are dead. They could have just been still. I put them all in the hatcher.
