November Hatch -- Who's going to have late fall babies?

I just set turkey eggs today and as they lay more I'm setting them. I have some chicks due to hatch on Thursday some due on Veterans Day some due the 23rd..I'm looking forwards to spring layers to keep and sell. I keep mine in the house for a week and then out to the brooder "Ohio" style they work great and my coldest weather is in late December early January. Cold for here would maybe get down to 17 but warm up to the mid 60's most days even get to 70. As long as there are no drafts they do fine the cooler it is the faster they feather too.

Lets see, I took 15 fuzzies out of the bator yesterday, I have about 30 or so due next wkend, I set 36 yesterday and just orderd 18 delaware eggs yesterday, which i will probably set along with another 30 or so buckeyes. Yep, i will probably be setting and hatching at least till spring, and then I will start all over again

Here are the scheduled hatch dates I've already got in the 'bators:

3 eggs due 11/3 in the R-Com Mini.
7 eggs in each of THREE Brinsea MiniAdvance units (1 of the 3 is an EX model) due 11/6, for a total of 21 that day.
9 eggs - Bantam Barnevelders in Octagon20 Advance EX due 11/12.
7 duck eggs in Brinsea MiniAdvance EX due on 11/18.

I still have eggs in two Octagon20 Advance EX 'bators, but 9 hatched out of one of those over the past few days. The other one was also scheduled for 10/31 but nothing working yet... I think I got the hatch date wrong....

So I'm all over November with y'all!

I set 20 black sexlink eggs last night.
They should all be RIR roo over either Barred Rock or Cuckoo Marans girls. Due about 11/21

Some of the eggs are a bit old, but some of them were straight from the coop, so we'll see how they candle in a few days, eh?

Our first time setting eggs, although our flock has been laying like crazy since August, 2009.

Sprung for a HovaBator 1602N w/ auto-turner (super cheap); added a fan. Put eggs in the bator straight from the nesting boxes:

12 on 10/27

9 on 10/28

8 on 10/29

Staggered dates as we only loaded up portions of each day's egg production (we sell 'em, and folks get cranky if we're sold out). Hopefully this doesn't cause too much of a problem. Don't have a bona-fide candler thing, and our homemade candler isn't the best. We were getting VERY bummed because we couldn't see any development, although tonight...woo hoo!

DEFINITE veins and such in at least three of the first 12! Must have helped in that we candled at night with all the lights off!

Whatever hatches will most likely be of the "mutt" variety: Roos are a Black Polish and an Australorp. Hens are Australorp, Barred Rock, RIR, Red Star, Faverolle, Light Brahma and Turken. Might luck out and get a pure Australorp, but a crested turken would be very cool!

Can't wait for 11/17!

Also going to set some eggs in a few days.
We are getting the eggs from this nice place down the street.
They have:
Roos: EE, SOme kind of game breed(tall lots of colors/pretty), White silkie, and white faced black spanish
Hens: BO, RIR, Lots of different colored silkies, WL, a mix, EE.

Im so excited to see what i get!!
Sososososo excxited!

So far i have 8 eggs from them and 2 are brown 1 is light brown, 3 are silkie eggs, 1 leghorn, and one is a very light cream almost white (big)

So, one of my birds laid the most perfect egg today. It was a picture of beauty. I couldn't BEAR cracking it open, so I marked it and crammed it into the incubator, too. Egg 20 went in 20 hours after the rest of the eggs. Hopefully, the little things signaling each other to hatch won't cause it any problems down the road & it will just hatch on schedule as the rest of them finish up. I had to risk popping it in a day after the others.

Someone please slap me now. I don't need 20 more quail! (I just want that many.

)To be clear, I do have HOUSING for 20 more birds. I just don't NEED 20 birds. (Ahem. Remember, I'm a vegetarian & will allow all the males a happy, long life. So, that almost guarantees that at least 75% of the hatch will be male.

Day 1 is officially over in 19 minutes. 15-16 days to go (hopefully 16).
