Ok - I have decided to be boring. I will donate a planter filled with Honeoye strawberry plants from our patch here. They are delicious! @ Pyxis if you could please add...mucho gracias.

Anyone interested in blue Swedish chickens? They are a medium sized blue fibro chicken. Sweet & mellow. I've got fertile eggs, chicks, and a trio (2 hens & 1 roo) available to bring, but will only bring them if requested ahead of time. My birds came from Graceful Chickens.

I updated the auction page :)

Also, I know I was supposed to bring ducklings for a couple people, but as of today my darn ducks have still not started laying, which means that there is no time to hatch ducklings before Chickenstock now. If those that wanted ducklings would like eggs instead, let me know and I'll bring those for you. Sorry about that!

Isn't that funny? My Millies have yet to start being broody - last year they were all over it! Well, I guess I'm destined to not have ducks, which is probably as well since my better half didn't want them....

I wonder if our wacky Spring weather has their little bodies confused. I had crazy broodiness last year & only one this year so far. My chicken sitter pulled her dup eggs & broke her broodiness while I was away. Oh well. Might try throwing a clutch of boiled eggs out there to see if one of the hens will get the idea.

One hen lays green eggs, the other lays light brown eggs. It's a fairly new breed with lots of potential. Some people speculate that svart honas and blue isbars were used to create the blue Swedish. Breeding back to isbars would encourage the green eggs. Breeding back to svart honas would darken up their skin. I love the look of the black face with blue-grey body. Not sure the photos do them justice. Hatched out a splash chick that's pretty cool looking too.
