Ny-chicken-lover chickenstock '17

Pics
I'm not allowing myself to hatch (ever) again. I still have 62 chicks to sell and evaluate. I'm sure I'll change my mind, but for now Fall is looking like a visit-only chickenstock. I'll also have an infant at that time and might not be traveling yet. We'll see.

@Pyxis said the same thing, about 3 hours before she filled her incubator again.

I'm going to have the same problem shortly - way too many chicks.

Ok then - August 26th it is!
Sounds good! :celebrate
I'm writing it on the calendar. I have a few months to practice driving interstate & longer distances. I'm primarily used to back roads & state/county roads, but for chickens I'll make the trip!
If any of you want started pullets, now's the time to order them for the fall Chickenstock. Though it sounds like most of you have "too many chicks" right now while I have too few to fulfill orders!:barnie I'd gladly take or buy more from you all, but they want my chickens & the price I quoted, I'd take a loss if I bought from someone else & resold the pullets later.

I'm in for the August 26th! As long as our plans don't change, never know when a vacation might pop up, but it sounds like fun to me!

@myfivegirls you may be able to get to the Penn Yan area via back roads. I know I can get there via the interstate - or a back road (well....96, it's pretty much a back road to me).

Sure ...Sure ...you will feel different next year ...
It is just you are hatching your own chick ...NOW ...LOL

Are Pumpkin Pavlovs Flighty ?
The one I have Runs away and doesnt like being picked up ..
I am pretty sure Pavlaw is a rooo.

The pavlovs I've had have been mixed temperament. I haven't found a great predictor. What makes you think roo? It's early to tell. The other three I have are very red in the comb and getting red shoulders, so I thought the one I gave you had the looks of a pullet.

I will hatch again, but I am seriously tired of it right now. I might move the mostly feathered chicks to the big coop with my 9 adults. That'll open up a larger brooding space for the growing babies and lessen some of the work.

I looked it up & there's one way that's looks to avoid I-88 which was the default way. It's 3+ hrs, but only a few minutes longer than the other way. Not sure if my parents would want to come, but if they didn't, I could pick up some feed at Lakeview. I'll just have to see as the time gets closer.
