NY chicken lover!!!!

Anyone going to the poultry show this Sunday in Syracuse? I guess its at the fairgrounds, but I don't really have any info on it?

I'm needing a Drake (Still, sigh) for those ducks. So i figured I would go look for that and for Cochin Hens. I really really don't need anything else, LOL I'm thinking about picking up some Calls though, I should have gotten them last year, I keep kicking myself for passing on them!

I have some Harlequins, Pekins and Cayuga Ducklings I could bring, plus those Autralorp chicks. I also have BBS and chance of Lav Ameraucana eggs too. I'll have Cochin eggs and Coturnix Quail eggs too.And a brood quality Quad of Buff Silkies. Email me if anyone wants me to bring them anything...

Our CL makes you log in to post, I don't recall if it asked for a phone # or not. I always hate that people want me to call them, just email me and ask whatever, I don't have long distance or unlimited cell minutes to talk forever with someone who won't ever buy anything anyways! WHAT is with all the tire kickers on CL anyways?

I'm willing to trade if anyone would like to barter, I need cages and a Buff or Cayuga Drake. Or a cabinet or Genisis Incubator!

Hello Fellow Chicken Fanatics! I am in Ulster County and was wondering if there was anyone near me who has the chicken bug! My DH and I are newbies this year and have 4 Barred Rocks and 4 Goldenlaced Wyandottes. My girls are 7 weeks and will be moving out to their tractor tomorrow!!! Anyways, I was wondering if anyone has ever raised Javas. I have fallen for them but they are hard to find and DH is resistant right now to adding to our flock. Maybe next year I can get some. Missed the show in Highland as I was working(as usual). So...let me know about the Javas and if you are close to me!

BTW:
To anyone who sells at auctions:
How and when do you get paid? I've only been to one and am going to check out a couple more in the fall. I understand the concept of tailgate sales, but what about auctions. I was reading the consignment directions for the one in Batavia, and I thought it said six weeks. I mean, if it's going to take six weeks for me to recoup my money, then what's the point? Is there any way to find out which ones are better for the seller? And which ones to avoid.
Thanks

I would love to go to the show, but I can't chance it. If I get any more chickens I will have to build somewhere to keep them all! My DH wants a phoenix roo and we can't do that without thinning out my current population of roos.
out of 8 chicks I have 4 roos and 4 hens. They are 8 and 10 wks old today. I am a little worried about all the roos I have. One of the bantam cochin roos must have gotten into it with one of the other roos cause he has some bloody spots on his face and wattles. They all seem to be getting along fine today and last night. I can't separate them yet so hopefully they all get along. I don't want to get rid of any of them either..how would I choose which ones? ugh. My DH wouldn't let me anyway. Don't suppose anyone needs anyone here needs a free bantam cochin roo? or trade for a hen? .......ya I didn't think so.

Hope y'all had a nice holiday weekend.
