I just saw Natureberry farms is getting some Buffs and Black Australorps tomorrow, so if the craigslist thing does not work out that may be an option...

I copied this from their site:
We will have straight run Black Australorp and Buff Orpinton on or around 8/18 for $2 each. PLEASE NOTE THESE ARE STRAIGHT RUN AND OUR GUARANTEE FOR PULLETS WILL NOT APPLY TO THESE BIRDS.

I thought about it, I love my 2 Buffs and would like more, but don't think I want to do day old chicks until next spring...

Good luck!

I got all 6 of my girls from there. One did turn out to be a roo and they took him back no problem and gave me another pullet! I'm looking for some americanas or just EE's if anyone knows of any. Nature berry is out. I checked today.

Great info on here! Awesome to see so many NYers raising chickens!

Chicken stalker... thanks for posting the list of show dates. I've been looking for something besides the State Fair to take our birds to.

Sunnyside Upstate...I noticed you wanted EE's or Americanas, they are the same thing. You will notice the spelling of Ameraucanas doesn't have an "I" in it. Sometimes hatcheries confuse people with the intentional misspelling! I am going to be selling a few of my Ameraucanas. The are five months old now, all large fowl...I ordered them from John W. Blehm.

Pardon my chicken spellings. Lol. Thank you for correcting me, I guess I never paid attention. I would love to take some off you hands but i'm not sure I can justify to my husband driving 2 hours out to pick up some chickens. I'll work on it and definitely let you know!

Forgive me...ever since I was set straight on the spelling, I've been doing the same to others!

Now that I'm raising them, I want everyone to be in the know.

What colors did you get? Are you going to be selling any pullets/hens? Are you coming to either the Bath Poultry show or the auction? I'd be interested in hens if you end up with too many?

I have eggs in the incubator now, dunno what I will end up with. I managed to kill most of my last batch for some reason...

Hi folks been a while. Just busy I guess.

Sunny no need to apolo. for spelling. This is life. 'sides anyone gives you a hard time ignore them Same goes for anyone else. You just do the best you can. Me I get tired of backspacing.

Sew the: I got a broody sitting on eggs and I think there's another going on me too. I'll give her some eggs. I figure they'll be feathered out and if they's hens they'll lay sooner in the spring. I'm tire of waiting for my EE's to lay. Dang they won't be laying til September. I want colored eggs now !! My point being we still got time to feather out a few chicks.

Now I'm going to the fair tomorrow hoping to see some heritage breeds. Last year I missed the standards cuz they cut them and the bantams into different days so they could move the pigeons downstairs. I complained the year before cuz I can't climb them stairs and they don't have an elevator.
If you go I'll be the guy with the cane and sour look on his face. Momma warned me it'll freeze like this and it did.

I am located on Staten Island NY. A local aquaintence who has had 7 peeps (from hatchery) since day olds..(all hens) needs to give them up. Tey are now about 4 months old.

I visited them today and there are 4 BR....2 EE.(1 pure white beauty w/muffs and an white/cinnimon color (with no muffs))...1 RIR? or comet sex link...not quite sure what right now....All are hens and the BRs are SUPER lap friendly. Wish I could adopt them all but can NOT. All appeared very healthy and clean. They have been free ranging and loving it.

For free.....just contact me and I will put you in touch.
