Rancher, just to be clear I wasn't correcting Sunnyside over a "typo"... nor giving anyone a hard time! It was just clarification and information...period.

What colors did you get? Are you going to be selling any pullets/hens? Are you coming to either the Bath Poultry show or the auction? I'd be interested in hens if you end up with too many?

I have eggs in the incubator now, dunno what I will end up with. I managed to kill most of my last batch for some reason...

Sachasmom, sorry to hear about your loss. I have lots of Ameraucanas! Silver, Black, Lavender, Buff, Wheaten/Blue Wheaten. A friend of mine brought some of our birds to Bath in the spring (EE's). It was the first time I had heard of the place (auction). The husband and I have been tossing around the idea of going this fall. I also hope to attend the swap in Onchiota. I am just loading pictures, so if there is something specific you are looking for, let me know! Good luck with your hatch.

Everyone, I just said what I said cuz of the apolo. Don't know who said what. I've read more than a few posts where folks got their nose out of a joint over spelling. So I said no need to apologize. Not picking on my friends.

Rancher are you showing? I definitely plan on meandering through the poultry building. lol My Husband just rolled his eyes at me.

Well, now I wish I was going then too. I always go through the poultry building. I'm not showing but who knows I may some day.

We are going to the fair next week. Hope to see some great chickens and meet more chicken people! I plan on showing next year, so it will be nice to learn a bit more before then.

Me and the Family are planning on going to the fair on Sun. I know that they will be switching out the LF for bantam on like tues or wed, so if you want to see the bigger ones you will have to plan around that. My 2 year old DD likes chickens so hopefully she will enjoy herself.

I will be headed up to see the bantams cause I can't afford to go twice and I have enough large fowl for now. Hoping that someone has something other than silkies to sell...if I can afford it. I got my phoenix there last year and I love her sooooo much that I would love some more. I would like to go friday or saturday...anyone going on those days?

Hi all! Just went to the Dutchess County Fair yesterday and boy did they have a lot poultry! I finally saw some of the birds I have only read about. Seems like there were a lot of bantys this year. Black Sumatras were quite prevalent as well. They are very pretty. Had to visit the poultry barn 3 times just to see all the chickens again. They had a big incubator as well with chicks hatching. Pretty cool to see the fuzzy butts emerge. If anyone is in the area, you should go!
