NY chicken lover!!!!

Pearl was my grandmothers name.  However she would have never let us go near a silky without our tinfoil hat.  Just what kinda parent are you?   Don't expect me to feel bad if he does bad in school cuz the silkies got to him.  :gig    I think I'll start a business selling specially styled tinfoil hats for silky owners.  :gig     I could do a nice Bowler for your little boy.   :gig

Seriously he's a cute kid.

My grandmother too, the baby in my picture is my daughter and we gave her Pearl as a middle name is respect of my grandmother .

Cheeks as usual you have the most beautiful sights for your drive, thank you for sharing .

ty! sometimes, I'm a little overboard with the camera... gotta get "that" shot... thank goodness for digital cameras tho'... I used to spend a small fortune on film!

I love autumn...

My parents took my girls for the afternoon and early evening yesterday. I went to town town on all the things I wanted to get done. I didnn't take the time to even get on the computer. I won't list the chores, too many to do so. It is amazing what I can get accomplished with a few hours to myself. I even got to have a bubble bath and finish my book. My girls love to help me, but they're still young enough that it really makes any project take quite a bit longer. My girls now have chest colds and aren't sleeping well. I think I may have had a combined 16 hours of broken sleep over the past 3 nights. I finally called it quits and came out to catch up on the thread.

Speaking of horse training, I have one that needs training. She is 7 years old. I started work with her and I was up bareback on her this week, but with being pregnant and now with 2 little girls I haven't been able to work with her.

Oh don't worry, the silkies aren't his! LOL This is his chicken, "Golden Star"....

Man, I really need to get in the habit of using my camera instead of my phone! These photos are terrible.

Funny thing about the Silkies, we have a new name for them here at our house. My husband was home yesterday and doing some stuff around the yard. He was the one to let the silkies out and leave the bigs ones in the coop. Finally he comes into the house and says to me, those chickens are so ugly! They look like they belong on the Muppet Show! So before went out to dinner last night I hollered back at him, Wait a sec, I have to get the muppets back in their coop!

Cheeka ~ BEAUTIFUL pictures! I would blow the first one up and hang it in my living room! So pretty.

Adora ~ I'm still waiting to see pics of the chicks, what's the hold up?! LOL

Cheeka, I too like the fog picture and agree it would look nice in a frame. Is it for sale?

Lynzi - Golden Star is very nice.

The neighbor came to the door today with one of my hens. She said the hen was at her door, which I believe. I just moved her to the coop after she began laying again. She reared two chicks. For some reason this flock likes to go around the house and next door. Even though there is fencing they manage to follow it around to the end and get out.

Just stopped in really to mark my spot,

Rancher

thanks for the compliments everyone! the fog picture is certainly available, you should be able to save it right to your computer by "right clicking" and choosing "save as"... I don't have any of these photos blocked or water marked... so you all are welcome to take them... if you want a proper large print, I can do that too... just PM me with the size you want and we'll take it from there... i was going to send the "fog" picture to Kaatskill Life Magazine... see if I can get it published...

I do frame some of my pictures, but I have a 32" flat screen monitor for my computer and usually just put them up as wall paper, or screen savers so I can look at them all the time

DH wants more birds gone to reduce feed costs. There is an auction tomorrow. So far the birds marked to go are:
3 red sex link hens(2 1/2y), 2 black OE hens (1 1/2y), some point of lay pullets not sure of numbers, 1 blue wheaton ameracauna roo (4 mos)

We have a trio of silver ameracauna we're bringing to the yankee fall classic next weekend that are available (10mos) $40 or BO

If anyone wanted these we would need to know ASAP. The sex links would be free, the pullets and hens would be $5 each, roo free to good home.

PM me if interested

Lol....Muppets! I love it. They do look like muppets. The babies took forever the dry and we ended up losing one, so we only had 2. The blue is from Isabel and the splash is from Ingrid.
Also, someone in my white pen layed an egg today....they are all young in that pen, so imagine my surprise. I usually don't check their nest boxes because they are so young, but I felt like I need to today. Hoping its fertile.

Now that might be an idea to make and sell CD's of wallpaper pictures. As for the Morning Fog, I'm not sure if I saved it that I could enlarge it to a nice size. Perhaps a 5 X 7. I have been to San Francisco and seen people selling their photos. I've purchased a few myself. Perhaps you'd be interested in doing so at some of the craft fairs, if there was none near you.

Please forgive my input but you might want to save the point of lay hens as you won't or may not get much for them at the auction. After feeding them to this point it would be a shame to see them go for a song. I know I just took some.

I'd take them myself if I had room and weren't going away for a month.

Are you selling eggs? What are you getting for them these days?
