I was looking at pics of Sam the other day, he would have made a great breeding rooster and a great protector with his rooster attitude.

His type and color was just beautiful, such a shame, it still hurts my feelings. I think DH felt really bad about it, he's been very helpful with chicken chores, including gathering the dry leaves for the chicken run. (not the wet ones...the dry ones) Finding another nice breeding rooster has been quite the venture. I have one coming in tomorrow, I have been looking since Sam and Mille were MIA, so I am hoping for the best. I have so many blue cockerels from good bloodlines that need to be rehomed, but I needed a breeding rooster now. Geri sent me a couple of gorgeous black cockerels as well, I will be holding onto them. Let me think, total males....9 and a couple I am unsure about.
I know that you said that you use leaves in your runs? We have an overabundance of of leaves so I would rather use something that I don't have to pay for. Is there anything that I need to be careful about with the leaves?
