Us too........12"-18". I do love snow....just not way down here. Folks don't drive all that well in it around here.

Easier living upstate with practiced snow drivers is what I found for sure. I'll walk around tpomorrow, it's safer that way.

Ended up with about 8 inches. Wind is still roaring through and the windchill is in the single digits. Still have to shovel out to the tractor and take care of the cheeps. I see that the city and long island got hammered with snow. I was up during the night and saw it was a whiteout. Dress warm everybody!

We got about 4" here. My chickens are still not happy. The chickens in my front coop have a covered run and ran back in the coop once they saw a little snow had blown into their space (sideways). The back coop chickens never dirty their precious feet with snow so they are also whining in the coop.

I need to find somewhere near me with hay in small quantities.. maybe that will help.

Well......... our cars are under snow and the drifting is 5" high in my yard. I don't know officially how much staten island got but we must be in some state of emergency as the rails...ferry...busses aren't running. Streets I can see from my windows are near impassable evn having been plowed numerous times.. I can't remember a time like this. Hope it5 is just my block and not everywhere!

Moley Hokes it was cold this morning, nearly froze my hands off. I hate nipple waters for in the coop cuz they freeze but the others just make a mess. I do have some n the run and they freeze. I suppose not as fast since the run is covered and protected but below zero temps don't help at all.
Chicks old enough to sex and got an EE that looks to be a pullet, she's not pretty and I'll most likely post her on CL for free. Got others in the bator to hatch tomorrow. I hope they do. So far nothing going on. Got dels old enough to sex too, can spot the roos now, if anyone is interested.

Take care

Woke up this morning to about almost 2 feet of snow. The poor ducks were all huddled together in their little spot. I had to shovel them a path to the feed and water. I also got some more hay and threw it in their house. Nobody is getting let out today. The young birds, 3 months old, are in this sort of playhouse type coop. I had to put up tarps yesterday, but snow blew in anyway. All the babies are locked up in the top with feed and water. Everybody looks good and warm. When I walked back their and saw all the snow in the coops, etc. I swear I almost had a panic attack.

Next year ya gotta plan to cover the runs so they can get some fresh air. Mine still go out in the run. I put a bale of straw for them to spread and that keeps their feet from freezing. They mix it up real good to use for mulch around shrubs and things. Pics look nice from this side of the screen. Have fun.

Last year the runs were covered, but then the pens were so close to collapsing. So this year I'll just shovel a bit out of their run so they can come out.

Mine did collapse last year but I rebuilt them and put in slanted roofs and extra support. Used 2x4's instead of 2x2's. So far so good. I can't shovel and I like the wind break.

LAST YEAR Notice the tarps? Not a good idea.

THIS YEAR. Six feet in the front five in the back. The slant makes it so I can rake off the snow. Unlike last year what a mess. And I built another run. I still used tarps but have pieces of plywood to support it til i can afford the metal roofing like the front run has. I expect as long as i can rake the snow off it should hold.
