Tie-dyed Easter eggs!

I bought tetra tint chicks last year at TSC. Supposedly, they were bred specifically for TSC. I'd never heard of them otherwise. I have 7 hens. 5 lay large brown eggs, comparable in size to my producers. The other two (and they both happen to have gray legs) lay large to x-large green eggs. One is green, the other is a pretty teal green. If you're looking for green eggs, see if TSC has tetra tints again this year and get the chicks that have gray legs.

Exactly what I needed to know. Thanks! I've been getting worried, since the other hens have laid large eggs from the beginning. I hate being patient.
Ro-cha-cha makes you get a permit? C'mon down to Canandaigua. No permits needed.

(at least in the town, I don't know about the city). Welcome!

Made the angel food cake recipe tonight. Waiting for it to cool now. Did I mention I hate being patient? Strawberries and whip cream ready to rock!

I was in TSC just last week and spoke to the woman there. They get their chicks from MT Healthy. She showed me the invoice. I don't know what they pay. I love the TSC store here. They're always nice and if I need something theyr'e always willing to take the time. They load my car for me too. I sometimes just stop in to look around and see what's new. If they had a coffee shop I'd be there just sitting and day dreaming. One time me and Trilyn were sitting on some furniture they had just having a chat. It was so funny.

One of the two hatching eggs that made it (idiot broody trashed the others) turned out to be a beautiful EE cockerel. I'll have to get a photo of him. He's very pretty, and is a really nice-tempered bird.

Maybe if we have another pic nic I'll just bring a cooler full of eggs to give out.

Save me a seat next to you, will ya? Our TSC people know us well, too. I'll have to suggest a coffee bar... call it "the hen house"! I always say, TSC is the place where you can go covered in chicken poop, Carhartts, no makeup and hair thrown up in a pony tail and no one will care. Matter of fact, they might just think you're sexy.

I'm new to owning chickens and I'm from Rochester NY, I alreay did my paperwork for my permit and I'm waiting for it come in the mail. I built my coop out of scraps, and I had a lot of fun doing so that I'm building two more coops for about 4 more chickens and 2 muscovy ducks. Right now I have 6 Amber link chicks that are 5 days old. I seem to have a problem with poopy butt but was told of a remedy. My girls very active and eat well. I clean their digs everyday and wash my hands before and after handling, and I want to handle them a lot to keep them friendly and docile. Any advice is greatly appreciated! thanks so much
My advice? Keep those dogs in your av away from the birds at any age. More chickens/ducks are killed by housepets than any other predator out there.

Thanks I really don't mind permits, it really does help crack down on animal cruelty cases. One day we'll have bake some yummy goods and swap recipes tomorrow I'm making strawberry banana bread.

Thanks that is the plan we are keeping the household pets separate! That's why I'm a little sore that they chicks are in my studio right now, that is a no pet zone. LOL

Why do I remember this but not my own name???
