Glass--Hope you had a nice day yesterday.

I cleaned house most of the morning, which took my girls minutes to trash. I didn't really feel like hanging out in the cold rain yesterday. Hoping the sun shows its face today. Going to rotate my horses into the small pasture for the day to give them more to munch. Tonight I'm going to have to cover my garden. I planted quite a bit of greens ( collards, chard, arugala, lettuce), beans, zucchini, parsnips, beats, radishes, brussel sprouts, broccoli, tomatoes, and peppers. Along my house I have buttercup squash and rouge v'temp pumpkin. I still haven't planted my butternut sauash and jack o lantern pumpkin yet. The only thing that didn't come up which didn't surprise me was the carrots because it was really old seed. I just plan on filling the space with something else. This is the first year I have ever planted this early, but I was working with the time I had. I've always waited until after memorial day.
I planted my garden this weekend figured better get it in before I have surgery next Wednesday on my shoulder. Hopefully all the cold snaps are done.

Well the 2 older americianas behaved them selves today .
I guess they must have worked it out yesterday .
Stony do you find sumatras are friendly chickens ?
the 3 I have are very friendly..they will fly up to the top edge of the box ..when I come to check on them .
they also have a slightly different body shape ..longer body with smaller chest & wider hips ...smaller thinner head .
I am smitten .
I will post pics of the Cass 11 in a few days

I wasnt sure when To look at the eggs ..I will go through them again in a few days & toss the blanks ..Ill let you know how many are growing also .
What day were these layed ? friday 17 or sat 18 ? they look like 12 day eggs I have found when I searched for candled eggs
not sure the particular date but they were no more than 4 days old when i gave them to you.

Are Tolbunt polish's that rare? I love the crazy look but chickes 25+ non sexable are way out of my league for buying a bird. I'm seeing 6 eggs for 100. Seems a lot to me or am I just cheep?

You should see what chicks from Greenfire Farm go for. It seems crazy, but when you think about it, if you turn around and work on the breed yourself you can get the same amount on your eggs as what you first paid most times. Still, very expensive to get started.

Editing to add: If you're willing to take the risk, you can get eggs cheaper on eBay. So far my eBay egg experience has been good bu it's dicey.

yeah I do. I don't hold them or anything, but they like being around me. And yes they are shaped different than an American chicken.

I don't care what kind of egg it is, that is a stupid amount of money. You are not alone, that is plain insanity
