NY chicken lover!!!!

Rancher thanks am glad it’s doing good I actually was so afraid to have it done after the Dr. said it will be the worst pain you ever felt and the Dr. said he is surprised that I can move it and am not in pain says I should be.

Trust me that Dr. has never had a kidney stone. I've had about five. The worst pain ever. I've heard women say it's even worse than having a baby.

My wife says they're trickling down from the rocks in my head.

I dont need any more broodys because I dont want any more hatching except the silkie eggs. That makes 3 broody silkies and 3 broody hatchery rir hens.

This broody disease is driving me nuts. Rancher--you sure your hens havent been talking to mine because this all started in your neck of the woods!

I had my first kidney stone early this year. Although I haven't had a kid, so I can't make that comparison directly, I will say it was by far the worst pain I've ever felt, and I've had some nifty injuries. *shudder* I can usually bull my way through pain - not that stone, though. Ow.

I have Mrs. B with her four chicks, my fuzz-faced Faverolle with her soon-to-hatch duck eggs, and now three other wannabroods, including my avatar hen. As I currently lack full-sized roosters (LONG and lousy story), and my Japanese bantam Wee Man is brushed off by the big ladies, they're out of luck at the moment. Broody disease is catching!

How long does it take for a hen to begin laying once she's gone broody and hatched chicks? I dont see myself having silkie eggs for a very long time. The black hen stopped laying again. So far I've only gotten 2-3 eggs from her. One is under Stella. The splash silkie is broody so she isn't laying, but she is sitting on 4 eggs which I candled today. 2 are completely empty and 2 have some veins. So we'll see what happens with those.

Nothing from Stella's today but I looked at the calendar again and found I was mistaken, her 21 day is tomorrow, not today. She hasn't gotten off that nest (from what I could tell) since I put her in that pen Saturday evening. Hoping for something from these 4!
