No Prob.... I have my own little stash of cookies in the car! LOL Told hubby not to touch Trish's... I'd better put them in a safer place.

Glad you're having fun! The Dom babies are starting to show what they are. Boys feather in lighter, right? I'm not sure John realizes that there are twelve now instead of six...lol.

Yes....what are the results and what is the relationship to the spot? Enjoy that trip! and if you see things that I would like, like a pretty sweater keep me in your thoughts!

Hello fellow chicken lovers,
My name is Heidi. I live here in little ole Morris NY,with my family, including our extneded family:Nala (chihuahua), Jessica (cat), Linda, Olivia, and Connie (our Araucanas) and Michele (our Rhode Island Red). I just joined BYC because it seems for as much as I love my girls, they do make me crazy! and I find myself spending a LOT of time thinking CHICKEN!, and often desperatley searching for answers on the web. I'm looking foward to chatting with you all, and helping out if I can.
Question for the day: Now that spring is only a day away the girls are out and happily wandering the yard, naturally they prefer my covered porch to any other spot in the yard, unfortunately so do I. I've tried the squirt gun (not bad but I'd have to stand gaurd all day) , tried making noise with a garbage bag (works but only briefly)....just wondering is there a scent that they don't like, that I could spritz around the porch maybe???
Look foward to chatting with ya'll
Heidi

If you give them treats try to give them in the run, by the coop, or someplace you want the chickens to be. After a while they might congregate more to that spot instead of your porch. It's just an idea being I don't have a porch to keep my chickens off of. Good luck and hopefully someone else has another idea.

I wonder how they would react to tied up tin pie plates that could blow in the wind and make noise.

I don't think you will be able to keep they away short of a fence.

Welcome to BYC, Heidi!

My son's Dorkings like to hang out on the deck and patio sunning themselves. I've even had to run them off the patio furniture! I've given up & just hose it down regularly & clean the patio set really well before we have dinner. Could be worse..... they could be in the pool!

Looks like the more head spots are the ones feathering in lighter, but I'll wait a bit longer before definitely saying they're boys or girls. As of right now... looks like 4 boys & 8 girls.

I got home a little while ago. Got my new babies in the brooder.

Checked the bator & I so far 1 white Ameraucana hatched, 2 Dorkings are half zipped & I have a bunch of pips!
