A $5,000 chicken? I'd rather put that money towards a car! LOL

Gramma ~ I remember that article earlier this year. I think someone else shared it at one point. That poor bird!

I have to say, I don't know what it is about these two chicks, but they are definitely the quietest and most layed back chicks I've ever had! I don't know if it's because I hatched them? But they aren't skittish at all like my other chicks were, they don't chirp all day long. Even when I take one out to hold, the other one remains calm and quiet. They are definitely really chilled out. I was in the the laundry room all morning cleaning it out (it's also where we keep our freezer and our pantry items) and they just layed there and watched. Didn't get all freaked out when I came near the brooder. Just hung out like no one was in there.

that's $2500 per bird. While I like the novelty of them. Not for that price.

I'm still waiting for the marans to come down. Mine look nothing like theirs even though they lay a better than large egg. I think they just show the best they have and not all their marans look like that.

Got a good pic of my little Silkie chick with its full leg recovery. Still can't get over how quickly that little band trick worked.

I just hope the feathers that the band aid ripped off its legs grow back nicely..

Okay this is definitely our strangest post. These evening our shelter manager was called by the police to a home in Yonkers. Upon arriving to the home our shelter manager found 5 dogs which are now in our custody. And 100 chickens a rooster and 2 ducks. In ll her years working in animal control she has never seen anything We have been given 48. Hrs to place the chickens and ducks or they will be slaughtered. If anyone knows anyone that can take these chickens nd ducks please contact us -at [email protected] or call 201 981 3215.​

10 roosters still need homes; the 48 hours has been extended, but don't know for how long.

where in upstate? Many consider Westchester county upstate....but we don't

My beagle escaped on my SIL last night while she was watching my youngest and didn't come home. I've called the local humane societies, dog warden, thruway authority, and post on the Mohawk valley lost and found pets FB page. Today I had a sono. Baby girl #3 flashed the camera and is looking good at 5lbs 13 oz.
