I live about 30 minutes south of Syracuse!
Well then I'm 30 min. north of you in Syracuse.
So this is me. I breed Delawares and have lav orp, wht orp,blk orp and buff orps and one blue orp chicks. I've got a mixed flock of glw, dom, cm, and bo. Plus an Lav amer roo and some Ee's. I do hatch and sometimes sell the chicks cheap.. Myself and my bff chicken friend will be hatching some really cool BRs and i hope to get some CR eggs to hatch too.
I will of course keep the orps pure they are from hinkjc farm in PA. Oh and I have some RIR chicks and silky chicks from Chapel Farm in AL. The blue orp is from there too.
Trylin is the bff chicken person and she's got some lav amers too. So what one doesn't have the other might.
Just want you to know where you can go and for what. Of course we always have roos.

Hello all! Once again, we are preparing for yet another snow storm. Just when the snow was almost gone, here we go again. My chickens are really going to hate me tomorrow when they see the evil white stuff yet again after enjoying some freerange time for the last week. Sigh. More extras treats yet again!
Yesterday my 10 silky eggs went into lockdown. I am so hoping they hatch. They looked really good when I candled them. Having a bit of a problem holding humidity and temp in the bator but I think its due to the everchanging weather and fluctuating temp in the house. I think it is finally stabalized. You are my heros, rancher and tigrlily, having so many in the bators!! Some day I will be just like you! (I just need more coops, bators, and brooder boxes and of course, more chickens!) I hope you enablers up north arent going to get this storm. My lone silky is growing in leaps and bounds! Mumbles is 28 days old tomorrow and I hope she is nice to the new babies. I dont know if she knows she is a chicken though as she spends a lot of time with me. She is very good at the silky mind meld. I am powerless.
Welcome to the newbies up north! Its the beginning of an insideous addiction that grows quickly! There is no cure so dont bother looking for one!
If anyone is looking for me, I am the woman with the permanent snow shovels attached to her hands. We'll probably get snow in July too!!!

Tgrlily - we are all holding our breaths until your lavender project orptintons are hatched!
We have the nasty, rotten, icky cold that's going around at our house. Getting out more chlorox wipes to help get rid of it ASAP. We have lots to do outside - coops to build, pastures to fence, gardens to till.....as soon as it warms up.

Really, we love them and are trying to embrace this stage of growing up.
Doris went out yesterday for the whole day. Today, she looked out and refused to leave the coop.

I'm going to aim my Silky mind wave scrambler at your place and mess things up. You'll end up with a bunch of Dilkies, Sorkings, Sorpingtions and Dameraucanas.

Ok, seriously. What is the deal with this stinkin' snow we are supposed to be getting. Are the weather people just playing a very cruel April Fools Joke. I sure hope so.
