NY chicken lover!!!!

Oh a dogs life ! is that your couch or theirs ? the pillows is a nice touch ..LOL
Do you ever get near syracuse ? I am in Jordan .. you could borrow mine ..
I will probably use it sometime in the spring ..if I have to ..
.I am hoping for a broody this next year though .
My Sumatras are always playing house .
We fight over the couch all the time. The one on the pilow is our Annie. She is spoiled and will always lay where there is a pillow to put her head on. The other one is Mater. He will only lay on the couch unless the recliner is free then him and the cat fight over it.

I come out to Syracuse once in a while. The distribution center that dh is based out of is in Liverpool, so he comes out every week. I apreciate the offer. I'm still not sure if we are going to do it or not. DH really isn't keen on the idea cause he thinks knowing my luck we would end up with all roosters. I told him if that happens that I'll just have to learn how to process them. Someday I'd like to do more, but not for a while. I will let you know. Thank you for the offer

Lucky chickens-'are dogs would get along well. Lily always sleeps with her head on the pillow on the couch. She even has a small pillow in her crate. :) and both my dogs love the recliner. If one gets off the other gets on lol

this is a few years ago when I only had maybe 60 chickens. You can hear how spread out the coops are even though you can't see anything. I recorded this maybe 5:30 one morning in the winter. If I rmeember correctly only a few were crowing at that hour

Awesome as always.

That Great stony. Before I had chickens I always believed roosters only crowed when the sun came up. I learned quick that was not true lol

I thought that too then i learned better!

OK hatchers, the question is incubating duck and chicken eggs together. If I start ducks a week early and then add some chicken eggs after the first 7 days do you think it will work. I always lock down the duck eggs at the same humidity as chickens, although this time I'm upping the humidity at lock down since I had a few that should have hatched get shrink wrapped. They're all my eggs so I really have nothing to lose.

Eta, the lone chick is doing fine under Broom Hilda. I'm at a complete loss as to what happened to the other 2. I can't imagine she killed them purposely and let the other one live, but I guess anything is possible.

I think that will work! From what I've read from other hatchers you should be fine if you do it that way. Good luck! depending on how my hatch turns out i may set some more.

I have 4 that externally pipped one looks like its ready to zip soon. 4 more hopefully will pip tomorrow. The 9th i dont think will hatch. But this is a test hatch so we shall see.

 Ooh you're good.

Thanks :). That was done on my work computer, have Internet Explorer. At home the laptop also has IE, but is currently out of commission due to being dropped too many times. So I have my iPod, but can't load pics from this. Asks to imbed an image URL. I usually end up taking pics on the iPod, email them to myself, open email on a regular computer, then upload pics.

Just got done on catching up on Glee (yep, I watch it). So I have to ask Stony: What does the fox say?
Disclaimer: I normally don't listen to that type of music, I prefer the goat-roping kind ;)

Do they get shrink wrapped with too little humidity or too much ?

Quote: Ted Nugent is scary ...boink sums him up quite well . I will bet a lot of Mothers & Fathers hated him ...

Thanks for the Morning Roosters...I loved it ....So it is a lot noisier now

Funny my son stepped in my room while I was playing it ....I said stonys morning roosters ..
He is like " the last thing I want to hear is more crowing roosters "
He hates the roosters crowing ..here .Funny he is the one that wanted chickens ..
Our BA rooster was sooo quiet ..hardly every crowed .before we got more Roos
The 2 Samatras crow off & on through the day ...He hates it.
I like it ..I really think they are talking
.The younger flock will separate into 2 .. Skiddy & Teetee always pair off .
Skiddy will crow " Hey where is everyone ?
Sammy on the other side of the house will crow back " we are over here "
Lucky will crow " Stay where you are ..Leave my ladies alone "
