Before I got started with chickens last year I came across these, thought that by "showgirl" they meant "show quality" LOL After a little more reseach I realized they were NOT what I was looking for! I don't like the naked neck look.

Evening all,
Well I caved and set my eggs today. I FINALLY have steady humidity from last night so I decided to set them in there when I came home today from Christmas shopping. I have 14 eggs in there, I'm hoping at LEAST half will be fertile and make it thru the hatch. I know at least the 4 silkie eggs are fertile and Stella's as well. I have three of her eggs in there. I just didn't want to wait too much longer with my oldest silkie egg being from the 3rd. Figured the sooner I get them in there the better. So here's to hoping the 29th of December is a good day!!

here kitty kitty kitty

that is a big cat. In typical cat fashion it found it just had to walk along a fallen tree on the ground rather than walk by it. Guess wild cats and domestic cats are pretty similar. Looking at the pics on the net and talking to a good friend who traps this is either a 35 lb bobcat or a large fisher. Big male kitty either way

to go with my big cat track.....a big cat. Probably similar in size to the cat that left the trail in the woods

STONEY: Thats a big kitty!

LYNZI: Good luck with the hatch my fingers are crossed.

So i noticed it was dark so i finished up n put the brownies in the oven gathered the dogs and went out to lock up the birds. Holey moses my roo was right there as im walking down the steps out of the dog yard he flapped his wings at me and ran into the coop. Now its dark so i jumped thinking it was another animal shined the flashlight and it was just him. I walked around into the run counted locked up the coop collected eggs i forgot about lol locked the run. I wonder if Rajesh was telling me to hurry my butt up and take care of business LOL. A Roo's job is never done i guess.

Well setting the bator up for the new years hatch along. Hope I get more eggs I really don't want to buy any from the people around me since they wont be ee's or any set breed. Wish I had some ameracauna eggs to hatch.

Well I kicked the nest pooper out of nest box two times tonight. I think next wed she is going to the amish I'm tired of her. She is the one that laid on the floor under roosts and couldn't jump in and out of coop too well. Well now she is loading up one box with poo and I'm tired of it. She has never had the best legs or been the brightest chicken so no surprised its her in the box. I have tried to put her on the lowest roost wich is only like 1 foot off the ground but she just jumps down. Sad to loose an egg layer but GRRRRRR she makes me mad.

December 29 will be a good day. YES.

I'm not sure any of the BR eggs from e bay will hatch. I think they were packed too tightly.

They were wrapped with some paper towel, put in an egg carton and then packed in shavings. Certainly safe enough to not get broken but perhaps to tightly so the only thing that would move would be the inside of the eggs. Not a good thing.

I will candle again tomorrow day 7. I always add some of my own eggs as a control group.

That all sounds breathable to me at least.
