no one in their right mind would hire them !!!! HOLY COW

I never thought of that ! I would NEVER hire them, even if I was paid to cover their salary! Sheesh .... now what can I philosophize about to cover those situations? I don't mind what they do - it is just I know they were trying to sue the bus company because they twisted a knee getting off because the driver didn't put the seat belt on tight enough - and this person's hands are fine and they can tighten their own belt, eh? And it was barely a twist, and they called the bus out to pick them up at their doorstep and .... they were bragging about this to my face when I still tried to have a decent neighbor relationship with them. So they are sue happy which means they just might tread on me. Don't do it ... Don't Tread On Me. ha ha ha But anyway - that is my gripe - not what they do to themselves - but I can see the attorney bill growing if I had an LGD ... but I guess if Midquid and I want matching pups ... we had better start saving NOW.

Still, I'd love me a good LGD ... that is on my lottery list .....

I think blue heelers are very pretty - but too energetic for my situation, so they aren't an option for me. They are smart too.

How's the weather where everyone is? It's starting to pick up a bit here and is actually sticking to the roads now. I just went out and locked everyone up early so I don't have to go out there later. It's freezing out there! The chickens were already in so really it was just the ducks, I'm sure they're not happy but owell.

Metella - I had to google LGD cuz I had no idea what you were talking about LOL But anyway, one of the sites/blogs I came across a little while back when I researching Ancona ducks had Great Pyrenees dogs that they raised. I got reading about them and found it interesting that some are born with some color to them but eventually that color vanishes and they are just completely white as adults.

YES ! that is gorgeous dog ! and I like the coloring as I don't like all white dogs - so this one would be perfect.

Maybe we can get pups together ! ha ha

I don't mind having a system ! I would have used it myself years ago and know some great people using it now - but the point is, if you are going to use it - help the community that is helping you or at least don't hassles others and try to profit off them. Blah on them. Anyhow, of course there is more to their story than just that ! They are icky people, but the rest of the area families are great - so I should just shut up. It is just that I really want a full time outside dog - and I can't just because of that one neighbor.

Yeah I hear, I'm just super sore about the system personally. Would love to have a guard dog around though! My pit mix does protect my son though so I'm happy about that.
Now now, we can't always know all the details of a situation. I'm old and you'd be surprised the things I've seen. I'm sure there are folks who don't like all our choices either. Not to mention family I know who complain about others while they themselves are cheating the system in some way.

Some businesses take cash cuz they can hide that income. Which is why I don't pay cash in situations like that. Had a fencing company offer to scam our homeowners on some fence damage. They did not get the job. It is what it is.

Some folks don't work cuz no one in their right mind would hire them.

I completely understand the system and I know people have different situations believe me I know all too well. But there are a few who do abuse it and it grinds my gears. In addition I'm sick of hearing people trying to protect their homes and people get to sue you cuz they get hurt when they are on your property.

I think we should have start shaving a few years ago LOL!

Nora had a doctor's appointment today. She weighs 12 lbs 10oz at 10 wks old. She got 2 shots. She didn't cry for the first but the second must have stung.

awww poor baby. wow she's getting big.

It snowed here a bit not too bad though.
My son let the chickens out and only the silkies and they felt that white stuff under their feet and flipped a you know what LOL.

Lol ours hung out in the pen ... Water was frozen this morning so I guess I'll have to get a move on on that heated water bowl

We got a couple of inches, but still don't have to use the snowblower. Ground is frozen which is good. I usually have to strong arm it through the yard the first time, then the ground freezes. It does get hard to move as I have to hold it slightly up so it doesn't scrape the ground, even with the runner set at their highest level.

Once again it's the BM's in the hoop coop that are laying well. I think it's that they are allowed outside. Can't really say. Not one egg from the orps nor the cr's in months. Not even the RIR has been laying.

Got another minute. The baby's asleep and the queen is watching Sid the Science kid.

One of two water buckets with nipples and heaters. The mice traps on top get set at night to catch the occasional mouse.

I'm always adding to the fencing around the garden. I've stopped trimming the branches in case deer do come around. You can see the cardboard I add during the winter. Come spring there will be now weeds. By the time the card board disintigrates summer will be well under way so weeds won't be much of a problem.

Straw on the floor of the run keeps their tootsies warm and dry. The bales of hay are up on blocks or milk crates to keep critters from building nests.

This is a side view of my largest hoop coop. Four cattle panels long. There is a door on each end so I can add another run on the other end. Easily holds 12 birds. Floor space is 8x9 of the coop part. Total about approx. 16 x9.

These pics are for Marq. You can see all the white on the youngest of hens. She is not yet laying. Which is why I prefer to hatch early in the year. BM's don't do well in the incu so I intend to use all broody's next year. Any go broody she' s getting BM eggs.

I posted all these pics so folks can see what I've done and perhaps use them or modify them for their own use. Certainly there are many ways of doing things and not all work for each of us.
I'm starting to see little dots of white on my pullets hackles, so maybe she will whiten up...Yours has a lot of white, looks good!
