AWWWW! She is too cute!
Those are the three silkie colors I
don't have. I had to draw the line somewhere.
I did try to hatch porcelain, but I've heard there is something with the lav gene in silkies that makes them more difficult to hatch. I only ended up with 1 chick & darned if I know which one it is or what color... although I suspect it is porcelain. It has some buff down on its head & pale color on its back.
Oh sure that'd be just my luck! I've got one and you'd have one and they'd both be the same sex. I talked to Claudia and she's not selling eggs. Can't figure out why she gave me some. She only got two dels out of the doz eggs I brought but I don't know how into them she is. She did have loads of silkies and I mean loads.
Where did you get your eggs? Are you going to get more? If not where did you get them and how many are selling porcelain hatching eggs? I know Trish will go in halvsies with me. I got dibs on Trish.
She and I will hatch anything the other wants.
Good thing they don't have dinosaur eggs or E. Syracuse would be in trouble.
Her birds (two) didn't do well at this show either. Course she was involved in the show so maybe she didn't bring her best. That wouldn't have looked good to some I guess. There was a porcelain at the show and it did thake RB but it was only one of two in the AOV catagory. I think they should try to have at least five in each. but then that just mo.
Rancher --- Got them from a breeder in Texas. I'm not sure I want to try her again... I'll see who else has some. The cuckoos I got the week before had an excellent (near 90%) hatch as did my own silkies. I might be able to work a trade with somebody. I know there are some in PA & Ohio. Best case scenario, we got different sexes.... we can share custody and divide the grand-chicks!
Bummer that they were unfriendly at the show. My kids and I answer a lot of questions for visitors when we show. I know a few other "show people" that do the same. People are strange --- and not always in a nice way.
Meagan---can you look for some porcelains for the East Syracuse faction, while looking for Sue's? We'd greatly appreciate it!!!
