She looks like a Silkie Girl - will probably have them all done up and treat them wonderfully!
Had a little SNOW on the ground this morning and it sleeted all afternoon here - YUCK!
Been busy so I hadn't had a chance to really post yesterday. Congrats to everyone on the babies and the shows that they've been to recently. Of course no one wants to be nice Rancher - they have their trade secrets and you're competition or maybe they just think you're there and don't know much about chickens.
I cannot believe how fast these little chicks are growing - Wowweeee!
Had to get more chicken feed yesterday - the babies are eating like crazy and the adults seem to be on a tear lately too. We ended up discussing our next pen project for the others babies - it is great isn't it???? Here we are planning to move in a couple months and we are already discussing the pen for the next group of critters. I need to get out and stain the two houses we have now since I wasn't able to get them done last year.
I have to make calls down to NC tomorrow to find out what the laws are in neighborhoods (those that have 1 or more acre homes) and in certain counties down there. I know one Realtor had told me that in Catawba County they had just passed ordinances allowing people in communities to keep chickens - I love this back to simple that people are embracing!
Gotta go survey the lockdown incubator - temp is good and humidity is about 70 percent and we are now at day 21 so expecting something to happen soon although it seems that Barred Rocks like to take their time!
Happy Sunday to all!
