NY chicken lover!!!!

No they will be blue. The so called "lavender" is really " self blue" not a lavender color. People just call it that cause it looks a little lavender. It will breed true just like all blues. Silver partridge is what I'm working on and it is difficult. I get females but no boys...The not only need to be that silvery color over black, but they also need the partridge pattern in the feathers. This isn't a good pic, but hens start out with dark heads & then the silver starts & spreads from the neck towards the tail.

Here is a pic of the same hen with a younger pullet that isn't very silvery yet. If one you have is a boy and you don't want it, and it looks kinda like this, give me a call!

Porcelain is very popular now. I'm breeding them and can hardly keep them up.

If you change your mind, I have boys....LOL.

Oh I don't have them anymore, sold two to someone last winter from Camillus who I did email and tell her to come join us on BYC but she never got back to me. And I brought one to AQHAChick on one of my trips to CT. I think hers ended up being a pullet, not sure about the other other two. They were a lot darker than yours tho so maybe they weren't true "silver partridge" but looked like a lot of the ones I see people posting on FB. Let me see if I can dig up a picture. They definitely had the partridge pattern in the feathers.

Thanks for the explanation, I was wondering what the genetic difference would be between blue and lavender.

This I get but breeding self blue to splash will give me more blue? I was wondering because the breeding genetics state that breeding blue to splash will give you more blue and splash. So I thought breeding lavender to splash will give me more blue and splash, with the possibility of the blues being lighter since the lavender, self blue color is light to begin with.

I have about a hald gallon of water mix and I'm not sure what to do with it, its sitting in my room right now (made it about an hour ago), also I keep hearing about hard boiled eggs and yogurt, we dont have plane yogurt but could I do the egg thing?

I put the extra water mix in the fridge, stops any possible bacterial growth. Yes to the egg - mash really well
