Morning all. Its april and 32 this morning. So over winter! Apparently I was not paying attention to the time this morning and my cat felt obligated to insist that I get up and let the chickens out. The boys were crowing and I think she wanted them to stop. I let Little Man and his girls and Junior out to freerange this morning. I figure that if Junior gets uppity Little Man will put him in his place. Junior needed to burn off some energy anyways. Of course he ran over to his fathers coop and immediately began the whole stare down through the wire thing. I had to chase him off. Randy boy he is and he has a girl with him!

The terrorists are picking up laying really well now. Got 15 eggs yesterday out of 19 hens. They are already at it again this morning. Makes for happy egg customers.

Babies are growing fast and trying to fly. Every time I open the door on the brooder they are looking to escape. One did fly out and land on the floor and immediately panicked and began chirping loudly. Silly chick.

My ongoing word quest to stump Stony today is the word-latch.

Off to serve java today (or depending on how rude people are--fling). Enjoy the day for me!

wow, I would never of guessed there are so many of us from ny on here ..I started reading this thread and relised it started way back in 2009..but I am glad I found you all ..I live in the Jamestown area..i grew up in lucy balls hometown of celoron on Chautauqua lake ..

I know a lot of folks on here sell their eggs ..just wondering if you all don't mind telling me what you all charge for your eggs ..I am going to be starting to sell mine but wasn't sure what the going rate is for fresh brown eggs ..I know in the stores its crazy ..

Wny, I think the prices vary by location. Here in CNY I have no trouble getting $3.00 per dozen, but I hear of people selling them for more.

Pharm I so agree about this weather it is 11am and 31 degrees here so it hasn't even warmed up past freezing.

Hi Stony. Nice to see you're back among the ranks here. Pharm, I don't think you can stump him. I have a friend that sings in the choir with me and I call her "Garmin of Lyrics" because she never needs sheet music in front of her and can remember lyrics from any song, any date. I think Stony is kinda like that!


Gorgeous, sunny day -- about time, eh?! We need tons more!!!!!! Friday & Saturday were crud.
