NY chicken lover!!!!

Well I'm home! I got back a couple of hours ago but I've been busy getting everyone situated here in their new homes.

Silkies:

Splash Roo:

Splash Hen (This is the one she hatched out from Catdance eggs last April, lacks the splash coloring but I think she's gorgeous!)

Blue Pullet:

And last but not least....The Frizzled Polish. I did bathe her because she seemed a little dirty and is going thru a molt but I can't figure out if she's supposed to be that creamy/white color or if her feathers are just that dirty and she will get more white feathers in. This was taken AFTER her bath before I brought her to the shed.

LYNZI,

Just saw these photo's now. WOW - I love the colors on the silkies -- just so lovely. And that Polish? How crazy cute! Forgive me for forgetting, but is this your 1st Polish addition to the flock? Best of luck with all of them!

Thanks! And yes she is my first. The chicks I last hatched ended up being Silkie/Polish cross chicks. So I decided to get her since the chicks are smooth feathered with hopes to get some more frizzled polish offspring. :)

I just acquired Karen's LIght Sussex flock, and they have been in with both the light sussex roo and a coronation roo, so the eggs should produce both. I'm aiming for pure light susses, so for the next few weeks I'll have eggs available that could give you both varieties. They are in now with Just the LIght Sussex roo. I'm offering eggs for $30 includes shipping. As many eggs as I get in the week. Let me know if anyone is interested.

wny egger - I sell for $2.50/doz. An organic farm a couple of miles away sells at $4 and gets what she asks. I think I read on this thread that Ithaca farmers market has them at $5

I guess it all depends on your area and market. I'm really not in it for the money, I try to cover costs of feed etc. but the pleasure of chickens far outweighs anything else.............they are my psychotherapy

2 weeks ago I went to TS and saw white Auracana chicks for sale. I explained to them that they were not Auracana's but they argued that they were. I bought 6 and told them that I would prove that they weren't. (The girl and I are friends through my shopping there, all in good fun) The next week that I went in there was a hand written sign that read white straight run chicks, clearance $1.00. So I now have 6 white chicks that are probably EE because they can lay any color egg but these chicks are quite stream line where as my own EE are usually more compact. Is it possible to tell what these might be? I'm thinking that maybe they are like the ones that were Super Blue Egg layers (like Armorfirelady's Edie and I have her sister) Been a busy week, one of my twin grand daughters fell off her little bike and broke her arm. She was rushed to the pediatric hospital in Rochester, NY by ambulance for emergency surgery, now has 3 pins. Nothing breaks a grandmothers heart to see one of her own hurt. Even Pinky got a cast.
they look like my white pullets I just got
