While I haven't colored eggs in years I certainly like the precolored ones my girls give me

I'd love some green eggs to go with my blue ones. Must of my girls lay brown but some are so light they look pink :)

Eta:'have you ever tried coloring the brown ones? One of these days I am going to try it. I've downloaded directions on how,to use different veggies for coloring. Spinach, beets, etc.

I love mine too, but you can't tell a 4 & 6 year old little kids any different. Maybe I'll have to get a few EE that lay blue and green. Is there any that lay pink?

Some brown egg layers get pinker eggs as they lay longer
silver spitzhaubens , sumatras , Leghorns lay white eggs you would only need one .
I wish I dared.. my men would kill me ...they love the quiet ..
How noisy is the blue & black one ? How come you havent eaten those extra Roos ? Must be chaos there ...

Hi Rancher,
So sorry for the news. I wanted to pass some information that I obtained, unfortunately "after" a horrible breast biopsy a few years ago. The Wende Breast clinic is considered excellent. They have a coil MRI that can image the breast. I think a provider bulletin arrived last year indicating that this procedure no longer requires prior authorization per the affordable care act so it may be easier to get approved. There is another test that is not recognized by insurance carriers, but it's an option to avoid many repeat mammograms. It's called breast Thermography, and essentially evaluates the blood flow to the breast, bearing in mind that prolific tumors require an enhanced blood supply. I have one contact only for this test, it is Donna Farrell, RN (315) 736-0022. I believe that thermography is more common in the Albany area of NYS. I do wish for her the absolute best outcome possible and will definitely have her in my daily prayers for good health and healing.

Chickens are doing great! Fredo now knows that the beep he hears is the bread maker and crows until he gets some! He is darling. He went outside briefly during the nice weather, walked around looking a bit confused, and was very happy to come in. We didn't really want his feet to get dirty, so it was very good to have him back in where it's clean. Wishing all of you a Happy Easter!
Thanks for the info I'll pass it along to DW.

Morning all. Final count this morning is 34 out of 38 eggs hatched. Woot! All the babies look good and are in a big pile in the brooder box. The last ones hatched out last night. Painting the trim today on the coop and hopefully getting to the inside tomorrow. I am hoping it warms up so I can put the brat pack outside this afternoon as well. I let the silkies out this morning to freerange.

Rancher--hang in there. You are indeed correct to encourage everyone to get a mammo done because it doesnt have to be in your family to get breast cancer. While my biopsy was benign, I certainly wasnt expecting to be told at such a young age that I had a lump. No one in my family has ever had it. The longest (and hardest) part of this whole process is the hurry up and test then wait for the results part. Just keep giving dw your support and let her do what she needs to do to get through this. As you have already found out, sharing helps. It gets you information and support from those of us who have gone through it and/or helped a loved one go through it.

Candled the silkie eggs and pulled 4. I am hopeful about the other 16. Its been a weird year for hatching silkies so I am hoping that numbers is on my side.

Time to get busy. Later all.
