NY chicken lover!!!!

Wow, could we moms ask for a more beautiful day on this fine Mother's Day?!? It is gorgeous out there!
I thought I would spend the day taking care of my other "children" since my 2 humans are afraid of any bug that flies by their way outside. Fine with me! Nothing but peace and quiet and chicken noises outside while I work on getting everyones living quarters cleaned out. I had to rip up the linoleum flooring of the big coop cuz it tore in a couple of spots over winter and I was shoveling shavings out of it. It was a pain cuz I could no longer take my dustpan and shovel everything out and shavings were now going under the flooring, it was a drag. I didn't feel like taking a ride out to lowes today so I used half of a tarp and stapled that down for the flooring instead. I think Nervous Nancy was getting annoyed with me cuz she wanted to get in there and lay an egg...

All cleaned out and now both want to get in to lay...in the same nest box of course!

My daughter told me today that she would like to name the blue hen "Ella" because it rhymes with Stella. So I guess her permanent name is Ella. I'll still call her Nervous Nancy when she's acting all frantic.

I reckon if you had the money and wanted to take the time you could use an assortment of odd ceramic tiles. As long as they were the same thickness of course. Wouldn't matter the colors. In fact an assortment of colors might look pretty nice. Check CL there might be plenty for cheap.

I must confess some folks who put things up for sale on CL are not the brightest crayons in the box. Why would anyone pay more for their left overs when you can buy new for less? The odds of finding someone who has the exact same tile is slim imo.

Simply beautiful today.

Yes it is. I've planted some Rhubarb and the Ivy I got at the church plant sale. I'm hoping will grow enough to cover the legs on my Deer. Every year I plant more Daffodils when I can get them clearanced at the shops. I will paint him green soon. It is a he but his antlers got broke off I guess. I'd also like to cover him with green moss for the craft stores. It will take some time.

I am so awful. I ordered a dozen OEGB eggs to hatch. After my bantam chicks all disappeared, I was really disappointed that I wouldn't have any little bantams around. So I guess I've taken care of that problem  At this rate, I will never turn my incubator off.

That does sound like a neat idea but I just wanted to get this done today and not make it an all day affair. Plus if really hate to add to the weight of this coop! It's heavy enough as it is! My DH was not a happy camper the day I "helped" him move it up the hill. Lol
