Thanks Everyone,
I will definitely still come on here to post! Just wish I could have some chicken stories to share.

Although maybe I will after getting in touch with some of those who offered to help me house them closer to my neighborhood. I'll still love hearing all the stories and pictures you all bring to the table here.

I'm actually going over to Chris and Danielle's tonight to visit my birds one last time before heading out tomorrow. I want to take a bunch of pictures of them too. Which reminds me I better upload the pics on my phone to my PC so I have room. LOL I swear thats what I use my phone for 75% of the time, if not more. I need to get back into the habit of using my SLR camera. DH spent so much money on it and he hates that I'm so quick to settle and use my phone for things like the kids birthdays, holidays, etc. It's just easier sometimes. Plus I'm really wanting a new lens for it so I can take closer shots and what not.

Anywho, I'll share some pics of my cheeps when I'm settled in the new house and internet is up and running again. I still don't even know who to contact for that cuz it's not the same company my mom uses which is weird.

Enjoy your day everyone!

So you can still have stories to share if you know how.

The cleanliness of the places were not what bothered me the most...it was the abuse and just plain torture of the animals. Unheard of torture that I don't know how these people sleep at night!
i used to work for a slaughter house ..not my cup of tea at all ..i only lasted 3 days ..
it never surprises me how some folks treat animals ..altho we dont do zoo's anymore either..even tho the claim is its for the good of the animals ..
i seen a kid one day riding his bike and holding a dog leash in one hand ..the dog went on one side of the stop sign and the kid on the other ..he fell from his bike and then got up and beat the dog ..i wanted to take the dog away but my wife wouldnt let me ..i did how ever give the kid a good yelling at ..some folks just shouldnt be around animals ,period..

Well I'm less 30 chickens....
The Amish neighbor slaughtered them for me yesterday and they now reside in my freezer.
That cuts my feed usage down 1/3.
2 of the birds slaughtered were Wyandotte bantams.
400

They look so tiny next to the cross

Well now I don't mind zoos, but there need to regulations IMO. Ours here the Burnett Park Zoo is okay on something but not so on others. The bird house was so stinky I got sick from my allergies. I mean really sick! It stank so bad if I had not been with my family I would have definitely complained.

I think perhaps on zoo per state would mean bigger and better exhibits. There should be a required amount of space allotment per animal.

We look to require a square foot space per chicken why not have zoos require square footage per Elephant?

As for the dog? I was a letter carrier and had no trouble letting folks know about animal care. I even called the SPCA a time or two.

Tried to get a good picture of my duckers today, but they decided that they didn't want to look at the camera... I was just happy that they all stayed in one place together long enough to take a decent picture!.

Ke5hde..make sure that you show your DW..They have gotten so big! I can't thank you enough for helping me get them!

The 3 girls (peking & 2 magpies) are in the front and the boys are in the back. The one on the right is the crested one (Lynzi). She is finally getting her poof back after the runner drake pulled them all out. Funny how they stood that way. What you don't see is that they are looking at the chickens eating the blackberries on the top of the wall behind them.. I have to get the rest of them picked before the chickens eat them all.

The drake on the upper left is for sale if anyone wants him..

One zoo per state would limit the number of people who could visit

There are spacing requirements for zoo animals. Buffalo almost lost their elephants due to space

Seem to have several chickens molting...Not getting to many eggs...If they aren't molting they are either broody, to young to lay eggs, or is a rooster...I only got 1 egg today!

I thought that Buffy was sick and going to die. She wasn't acting like herself at all... until her feathers started to fall out...

Now that they are starting to come back in she is back to her usual wonderful self..She is one of my first and one of my favorites!
