Pyxis I could use some of the packing peanuts explanation below

My bad news my son come in screaming today grab the gun and get to the coop so I go out there to a mess of destruction and 2 dogs a beagle and a husky killing my chickens now this beagle has been here before numerous times as they let it run loose The owner lives about 5 miles away I have Lost so many birds to these beast today it is sad. The owner did pay me for the birds and both dogs were put down by her husband as he said once they kill they will always kill but I am now going to have to replace all these birds. I am down to 3 ducks left out of 25 and I would say they have killed at least 50 chickens I do have 2 roosters that are in sickbay with bald sections on there back and numerous puncture holes in them but don't anticipate them making it. My flock looks so tiny now.

Now my hubby did feel so bad that he did bring me home 20 new babies from tractor supply to cheer me up. Which is nice for egg layers cause we won't be having too many of them now.

Pharm I believe I sent you a message on your RIR if you let me know how much you are going to be asking I would like some more I do have the 3 I got from you last near they actually survived the attack.

Anyone else have eggs or birds I would like to start replacing this flock and would love to hatch out a bunch now so I can get eggs earlier and I am sure that what birds I have left won't be laying for quite a while after that the poor babies.

Oh my gosh Nutty I'm so sorry, that's terrible. Of course you can have as many of the packing peanuts as you would like. I'm pretty sure I have at least ten so just let me know how many you want.

Lindsey, You have many reasons WHY YOU DID NOT PAY and did not honor the lease.
HE WAS A HORRIBLE LANDLOARD. The tentant with justified reasons: USUALLY WINS.

He did not honor his part of the lease and gave you just reason NOT to honor the lease.
When you call a landloard.....THEY MUST BE THERE FOR THE TENANT. We have been
a landloard for 25 years. Excellent landloard and 2 people still broke the lease.

It was easier to say "forget it"....than go to court. AND we know other landloards in our area
that did pursue the situation. AND they are still waiting for their money. Tenant has RIGHTS.

Write all the things that signify "landloard not doing his part" ....and you write down all the things why you should break the lease. I believe you will find your side has more facts.

Good Luck Regards, Aria

Thanks Aria, and if I do ever make my trip up there and have some silkie chicks for sale I'll let you know, Maybe you can meet me off the hwy or something. How is hatching going? Are you still at it or have your birds taken a break from laying?

Well it looks like April 15th is the tentative "move in" day as of right now.

Nutty - I am so sorry for your loss. I would be irate! That is just such a huge loss, I really hope you can build up another flock soon. If I lived closer I would help - lots of people around here posting birds for free or for sale due to the owners not wanting chickens anymore.

so sorry... Nutty ! you must have Bawled ...or Screamed ! I would have probably done both !
At least the owner killed the dogs ...the money doesnt replace the chickens ..but it is some consolation.
I have eggs ...8 dozen ...they would be mutts ...1/2 aussie or olive egger / 1/2 plymouth white rock or comet or RIR or americana.

I hope this will cheer you up some
...some chicken therapy .

I like how folks think money can replace a pet. How much money does it take to repay all the work we do with your chickens? Feeding, cleaning, lugging water, treating and keeping the healthy? Especially Ducks. I dread starting over again.

The only reason Frenchy is not indoors with me is DW won't have it. That and I'm afraid to upset the applecart. Chickens don't take change well. It's too stressful.

I don't make pets out of my chickens, but I'm pretty attached. If someone's dog killed mine, I don't know what amount of $ could replace them. Time is worth more than $.
Sorry to hear about you loss.

Sorry to hear about your loss - wow! That's a lot of ducks and chickens that they killed. Hope your new ones grow quickly!

We have a neighbor with a coonhound that runs loose - I'm sure if he ever got inside my chicken yard I'd have a massacre, too.
But thankfully so far he's stayed on the other side of the fence. But with all this snow, the fence isn't as "tall" as it usually is.

Welcome ! We can take Care of That !
Go to Tractor supply ...they have chicks now ...you will fall in love with them ..
and be hooked forever !
