Good afternoon everyone:

I've posted my 5 Bantam Brahma roosters everywhere I can thing of (even on BYC auction) to no avail.....I have a bad ratio of girls to boys (5 girls/6 boys) & my poor buff brahma is getting beat up! Of course they don't pick on the two partridge cochin girls much.

Anyway- I live about 10 minutes North of Cooperstown NY, & have posted to this thread before. Does anyone want some roos before I try to find a way to get them into my freezer?

If no one wants them- there was someone on this thread that lived kind of close to me that had some names of places that would process chickens..... I can't seem to find the post to PM you- Can you pm me?

Hope everyone has a great day- the snow is slowly melting....spring is on the way (maybe).
BTW- I just finished building my second incubator (first one was too small) and set my first eggs on 2/27! I'm so excited. I'm already planning ahead to see how I can build onto my coop.

Hey everyone!

Did you try posting them on craigslist? It's very easy and free to do so, I have had REALLY good luck on there!

I just put down another layer of wood shavings in my coop today (deep litter method) and cleaned it up a little out there. We went down to Arcade to buy our feed today and they had FREE wooden pallets there, I made my DH take them all (he wanted then to stack wood on, I wanted them to make a walkway to the coop) and I won, it was getting a little muddy out there, so they work great yayyyyyy!!

I also ordered a PROPER man made nest box from someone on BYC whose husband makes them on the side, I can't wait to get it in the mail, it was a splurge but oh well! It's made of metal and has 6 nests in it.

Thats all for now, hope everyone is thawing out!

Congrats to all the new hatches:) and I'm so sorry for those of you that have lost some:(

OH I tried Craigslist, our local pennysavor, here, & word of mouth. I've had a few curious inquiries, but that's it. My poor girls are starting to look horrid! I'm going to try and section them off when the 2 feet of snow we have melts a bit so that I can get to the extra building supplies I have.

I have reached the point of no return: I would give anything for the ground to firm up & all this white stuff to go away.... I LOVE NY, but hate the snow!

I'm SO glad that I put a roof over my coop AND run! So far, just the edges of my run are muddy!

I'm looking for some Black Copper Maran eggs to hatch if anyone in the area is interested. I really don't need more Chickens, but who can resist! I would also like to add a few more different colored cochins to my flock. I really love my two Partridge Cochin girls! They are SO sweet.
